BUFFET BARS.

When you have differing food requirements, sometimes the best thing to do is to have all of the choices laid out so that each person can please their palette. 

Baked Potato Bar w/

  • Baked Potatoes in the oven:

    • Wrap in aluminum foil, poke with a fork and bake at 350 F for 1 hour;

  • Baked Potatoes in the crockpot:

    • Wrap in aluminum foil, poke with a fork and bake for 4 hours on high;

    • Bacon in the oven:

      • Grease a broiler pan and bake at 375 F for 20 min. Flip. Cook until desired crispiness (approx. 5-10 min.);

      • Reserve bacon fat in the bottom of the pan for roasted vegetables.

        • Pour half of bacon fat into a clean jar and store in fridge;

        • Toss cleaned and cut roasted vegetables in bacon fat in 375 F oven until fork tender. 

      • Toppings:

        • Butter, cheese, sour cream, guacamole, salsa, marinara, creamy salad dressing.

        • beef or veggie crumbles, bacon, chili, baked beans;

        • Broccoli, chives, jalapenos, nopalitos, lettuce, olives;

  • Taco Bar w/ beef or veggie crumbles

    • Tortilla chips, soft taco shells, hard taco shells;

    • Sour cream, guacamole, salsa, jalapenos, nopalitos, lettuce, olives;

    • Refried beans, black beans, pinto beans;

  • Salad Bar

    • Experiment with lettuce, spinach and kale

    • Add corn and canned vegetables to vary flavors

    • Get some fresh herbs like mint, basil and dill to add umami
